Are Affirmations Worth the Effort?

The answer to this question is based on individual viewpoints. Some would answer yes and some would say no. What would your answer be at this point in life?

Affirmations are not a one time and all of your issues are fixed kind of deal. Affirmations are helpful but they do require effort. The problem is we often want the positive change to come over night and that is not reality. There is nothing wrong with wanting the change, but we must be realistic and realize that it wll require something from us.

The key is being consistent which has been an area of struggle for me personally. It can be easy to start making affirmations and being excited about it, but then life gets busy and without realizing it, you have stopped.

We have to make it a priority that is just as important as washing our face and brushing outr teeth. The truth is that we believe what we say to ourselves more than what anyone else says. So, why not indulge in positive self-talk. Tell yourself true and positive things. It may seem odd at first, but if you stay consistent, you will see that it is/was worth the effort. No, it is not always easy especially on a daily basis, but remember that the Bible says we are to encourage ourselves.....so let this be your committment o encouraging yourself.

My final thoughts are to start small and not try and overdo it from the start. It takes consistent effort but it is worth it becuase no one can or will encourage you in the way that you can.

I'd love to know your favorite or most effective affirmation. For me, it's "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me because Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world."
