Alcohol Ink-A Life Connection

Alcohol ink art is something I stumbled on by accident (or maybe not). I was intrigued by what it was and wanted to try it out. So, I eventually tried it out and fell in love with it. Alcohol Ink is a concentrated alcohol based ink that dries fast and is best used on surfaces that are non-porous such as ceramic, glass, metal, plastic, and Yupo paper. One of the things, I really like about alcohol ink is that you can add layers of ink to create some really beautiful artwork. Alcohol ink art reminded me or rather brought more of an awareness to the fact that beauty and self-acceptance are not defined by the world's standards although this is what we often believe. Self-acceptance and beauty are found within and when we truly know this, we will set our own standards that will guide us in walking the path God has chosen for us without lowering or bending our standards to try and please others.

Alcohol ink kind of does it's own thing. You can try to create a specific design and end up with something more beautiful than your original intent. It's true that you can use alcohol ink in such a way that it does what you want it to do, but it requires more effort. If that's what you desire, its great. However, I enjoy the fact that I can choose the colors I want and just create while anticipating the beauty of the end result.

In life sometimes there's the expectation that if you are not doing things a certain way based on the standards of others, you're wrong. This can be a frustrating way to live life. Learning to accept ourselves as we are without trying to satisfy the opinions of others is freeing and a lot less stressful.

I am not one to offer you a 10-step method of getting to the place of self-acceptance; simply because it's a personal journey. However, I will share that you must be willing to love yourself despite the things you don't necessarily like about yourself. Embrace your differences as part of what makes you special and sets you apart.

Own it and find your freedom!!

Alcohol ink and creating art have become an extra motivation in being able to share the beauty of being different and owning it. It is my opinion that the nature of alcohol ink relates to owning and embracing self-acceptance!
